MAPS volunteers restore aircraft and artefacts by hand in the first hangar on the right inside the gates. On the benches now: a Short S.16 Scion II, the type that first flew into Rochester in 1934, two Hawker Hurricanes and a Pobjoy Niagara engine.
It is a working workshop rather than a museum, so follow the volunteers’ directions and ask before touching anything. New members are welcome.
